Discover Albania’s Potential

The tourism sector in Albania has become one of the leading industries with an increasingly significant share in the country’s economy in recent years.

Summer tourism, due to the country’s geographic location, forms the largest sub-sector. The stunning 476 km-long coastline along the Adriatic and Ionian Seas, with its crystal-clear waters, warm Mediterranean climate, and high-quality yet affordable tourism services, make Albania an attractive summer destination.

In particular, the section between the cities of Vlora and Saranda, known as the Albanian Riviera, is famed for its exotic beaches and turquoise waters. Tourism investments continue to gain momentum, supported by infrastructure improvement and expansion projects, including the under-construction Vlora Airport. This airport will be the country’s third, after those in Tirana and Kukes. Additionally, the renovation and expansion of Durrës Port — located in the country’s largest coastal city — are expected to significantly boost national tourism.

Thanks to investments by both the public and private sectors, visitor numbers continue to rise.

From 4.7 million in 2017 to over 12 million in 2024 — with a 15% increase compared to the previous year. International recognition has soared, with tourists from outside the Balkans now making up 50% of visitors, up from 30% in 2017.

This indicates that Albania is gaining greater recognition and preference on a global scale.

In summary, Albania’s tourism sector is rapidly developing and growing, and still holds great investment potential yet to be utilized. Albania remains a very attractive country for entrepreneurs considering tourism investments.
